Photograph where wood meets the roof, dock, or solar array. Note species if you know it. White pine over a cottage behaves differently than a maple over a garage. Prior topping scars tell us the last crew already created the sprout problem you are calling about.

A reduction cut shortens a limb back to a lateral that can take the growth. A topping cut leaves stubs. Stubs sprout. The next season you pay again for the same roof. Ask us to show which limbs come back to laterals and which, if any, should come off at the trunk.
